About Dubai Camel Hospital

The Dubai Camel Hospital was created in the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide a world leading large animal hospital just for camels, the first of its kind. This amazing creature has given so much to the lives of the people of the UAE and as such it is time for us to repay this devotion.

In 2017 HH Sh Mohammed opened the doors to his prestigious 40 million dirham hospital. The hospital is state of the art and fully equipped with the latest in surgical and diagnostic equipment, allowing the team to diagnose conditions and perform pioneering surgery never previously achieved in the camel world.

The hospital team is comprised of vets who have accumulated many years of invaluable experience in treating camels in the Middle East, combined with specialist vets who have worked at the forefront of equine veterinary surgery in Europe.

Since opening, the success of the hospital is such that our capacity was further expanded in 2019. New developments are constantly being made and much has already been learnt and discovered in this short time, leading to improvements in the health and welfare of camels across the Middle East.
